Limitations of PDR

Paintless Dent Repair can fix a lot, but the PDR process has its limits

We are a success orientated company. We believe in delivering high quality service and training.

Paintless Dent Repair can be the solution for many dings and dents however it does have its limitations.

For Paintless Dent Repair the size and location of the dent is important.

Even large dents can be potential candidates for Dentique Paintless Dent Repair Technicians for as long as they are in a location which is directly accessible. Any obstruction can prohibit the restoration of the surface material.

Aluminum Dent Repair

The materials also play a huge role in Paintless Dent Repair.

Should the dented area be made of aluminum vs. steel, the chance of PDR being able to help decreases. Aluminum is a very light type of metal, which commonly can be repaired by our Dentique Paintless Dent Repair Technicians however requires a much more delicate approach.

Dents in aluminum panels can be difficult to return to their original form as it is more resistant to shrinking and reforming. Aluminum, although a lighter material, becomes stiffer faster the more it is worked by the technician. In addition aluminum body panels can have more bracing which also increases the difficulty in accessing the dented areas to repair them successfully.

Repairing Dents and Paint Damage

When repairing dents through PDR it is important that the paint is not damaged.

Any chips or severely damaged paint may cause the paint to further peel or crack, exposing the metal. At this point, body work, including paint work would be required to fix the issue. This is why it is always important to have one our Dentique PDR Technicians visually asses your vehicle to determine any physical damage associated with the dented area.

Providing there is no paint damage associated with the dented area, there should not be any concern for damaging or cracking the paint during the Paintless Dent Repair process. At Dentique we pride ourselves in creating a perfect and seamless repair, each time and every time.
